I hope that they fix this in the future, because being up front about policies such as this one is what makes it or breaks it for me in terms of subscription based services. I am happy I was able to resolve my issue on my own, without any communication to LinkedIn, which is a step in the right direction, but why hide the solution behind smoke & mirrors? The impression any person will get when searching the web is that they are probably out of luck, and will need to take the loss. Understandably it's my own fault for having signed up for it in the first place and not keeping track of the trial, but their claims of payments not being even partially refundable, and not offering customers an email notification for their trial end date just seems dishonest. Why did I never receive an email telling me that my trial was coming to an end, and that I would be charged an entire year's worth of LinkedIn Premium Business? This is a big chunk of change, that a lot of people may not be able to justify. Google search results are riddled with people with mixed experiences, and honestly it is something that seems kind of dishonest to me. My concern is that, there really is no literature anywhere that explains their refund process, and anything you do find clearly states that "Payments are non-refundable.". Kind of just looks like they charged me again? So I decided to look at my PayPal account and saw a full refund had been processed (Phew!). I then proceeded to click a button on the same page that allows you to check the status of your review, and to my surprise it already said "Approved"! I received a very confusing email from LinkedIn, almost immediately Image. I decided to give the "Request account review" button one last shot, and low and behold, after click through the second button it told me that my account was successfully submitted for review. So I went to my account on LinkedIn and proceeded to try and cancel my subscription within my profile, after a lengthy search (as its pretty hidden in the settings) I was able to cancel the subscription, but alas no mention of a refund to be processed. I continued to panic, kind of beginning to accept that a refund wasn't gonna happen. When I clicked this button, I got a page telling me "We're sorry, your request cannot be fulfilled". Please see below for additional details." So I click the "Request account review button", and was taken to a page where I had to click another button to "submit" my account review. Great! But below it, prefixed by the word Important in bold it states: "Payments are non-refundable, including feeds and other charges. At the top of this page there is a box that states "Review our refund policy and submit your account for review if you believe your situation warrants an exception". I freaked out, and starting to search everywhere on the web for their customer support line, I came to find that there is no direct phone number to contact them I did find one phone number, but when I contacted it, there was a pre-recorded message along the lines of "Due to high volumes of something or another, that the best way to receive help is to go to the "Help" section on their website." When you search for refund related questions here, you will find this page LinkedIn Consumer Refund Policy. After canceling LinkedIn Premium, you will be returned to your Basic (free) account.I just had a bit of a shock when I received an email from my PayPal account claiming that LinkedIn had just charged me $587.88 for renewing a LinkedIn subscription trial.
